The Challenges of Lab Work

Spread the love
As I sit out doors under an acacia tree in the dead heat of the noon African sun, waiting to harvest the tsetse flies I had set traps for the evening before, I come to the realization that in some ways I have come full circle with my career. You see, I started off as a field worker some years back before going to graduate school and then a postdoctoral fellowship. So, my lab story actually starts in the field setting or the “natural lab” setting, and this is the experience I want to share with all the budding scientists out there (yes, we need you!).
